The opening bell rings at the usual 9:30am ET and the closing bell comes three hours early, at 1pm ET. It's one of the shortened sessions published on the NYSE holiday calendar, not a surprise — volume is typically light and the day passes quietly.
The bond market shortens too, but not by the same amount: SIFMA recommends a 2pm ET close, an hour after stocks stop. Banks are open the whole day on regular hours.
