The Postal Service closes on all eleven federal holidays — no delivery, no retail windows, no collection pickups. Where it parts ways with the rest of the government is the weekend rule: when a holiday falls on a Saturday, USPS observes it on the Saturday itself, so mail runs and post offices are open the Friday before, on a day federal offices are closed. A Sunday holiday goes the other way — it moves to Monday, and Monday is the day without mail.
The sign above is today's answer; the table below is the whole year, checked line by line against the USPS holiday schedule. Two things hold on any holiday: Priority Mail Express is delivered 365 days a year, holidays included, for an added fee — it's the one class that still arrives. And Sunday has no regular delivery in the first place; the Amazon packages that turn up on Sundays move under a separate contract and aren't mail.
Most post office lobbies open weekday mornings through late afternoon — hours vary by location.
