Is the DMV open today in New Mexico?
In New Mexico, driver licensing is handled by the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Its offices close on the state's holiday schedule below — and on weekends. If today isn't one of those, offices run normal business hours.
New Mexico moves Presidents' Day to the Friday after Thanksgiving, so MVD field offices are open on the third Monday in February and closed Friday, November 27, 2026.
July 4 falls on a Saturday, so offices close Friday, July 3, and the state closes for Indigenous Peoples' Day on Monday, October 12.
Dates come from the MVD's own location closings calendar and the State Personnel Office 2026 paid holiday schedule.

Weekend holidays can be observed on the nearest weekday, and a few states handle that differently — the notes above call it out where New Mexico does. The final word is always the agency's own page.
Checked against the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) and the state's published holiday schedule, verified August 2026. When a schedule for a new year has not been published yet, this page says so — it never guesses.
