Is the DMV open today in Illinois?

In Illinois, driver licensing is handled by the Illinois Secretary of State, Driver Services (DMV facilities). Its offices close on the state's holiday schedule below — and on weekends. If today isn't one of those, offices run normal business hours.

Illinois has no DMV of its own. Driver's licenses and state IDs come from the Secretary of State's Driver Services facilities.

Some facilities run Tuesday through Saturday, so a Monday holiday can close them on the Saturday instead. Check the facility you plan to visit.
